We are very excited to announce the launch of the much-anticipated App release.

To help you with the roll-out of the App, please read the information below. As ever, we are here to help you on

1. Styling and Layout
In September, we emailed and broadcast an article giving you a preview of the App, and asked if you would like the App to be styled to your logo and brand. If you haven't been in touch, or read the information, you can do so here.

2. My Area/Desktop Mode
Alongside having engaging content displayed in the App like your events and media, one of its primary functions is to replace My Area.

The App will be available on

We have tried to get the App working as well as possible for your members to enjoy the experience on their mobiles, and have not yet rolled out our desktop interface. This means that they will get a large mobile view of the App when they visit the old My Area on their desktop device. We will roll out the desktop view in phase 2, and this has already been designed and in the works.

3. Custom Sections
We are sure you are very excited at the prospect of having a Church App! We expect that many of you will have questions and will be wanting more features that are currently available. I (Adam) have been the same, and have been asking our development team for many additions to the standard functionality the last few months!

The good news is that we have been working on “Custom App Sections” that will be tested for a short time after the launch. We advise getting your Events and Media looking as good as possible in the first instance when you get the App. Then we will notify you about what’s possible with the custom sections. To help you plan, here are some things you will be able to do:

  • Have an App section for your PDF notice sheets
  • Have an App section for your latest news articles
  • Display a custom list of any media
  • Display any page on your site as an App section, like your special event with booking, or your COVID help page
  • Display your Small Groups information
  • Have a section that embeds any content from the web, like a Twitter widget
  • Add links to other web sites
  • You will be able to move and rename the items on the mobile navigation

4. How-to Guides for your Members

Please do communicate with your members about your App launch.

Firstly, if you don't already have a nice responsive email template with your logo to use when emailing your members, you can create one by following this video. It’s very easy to do.

Here is an example of an email you may want to write. Feel free to adapt it to suit you.

We recommend you create this email as a draft as soon as possible, and then send it out shortly you are happy with your content and styling of the App.
Dear Member,

We are pleased to announce that our website provider, Hubb, has launched an App for our church!

You can go and download the App now on your phone and tablet devices to engage with the church and keep up to date with what’s going on.

Hubb have provided quick video guides on how to install the App, and you can click on the links below to watch them. If you want to install it now, please go to and click on the green install button, and follow the on-screen instructions.

We hope you enjoy using the App.

Best wishes,

The Church Office
